Here, I am prepping a Hamer Vector Flying Vee for a fresh, custom-mixed nitrocellulose lacquer finish...
The headstock is about to be routed for binding...
The neck is Korina, while the body is mahogany...
Here is where the new headstock binding will transition into the existing fretboard binding...
The channel has been routed, and the binding will now be glued into place...
The tape will secure the binding tightly while the glue cures....
The binding has been scraped level, and sanded smooth....
The transition between the headstock and neck binding is practically seemless...
The white basecoat has been sprayed over the sanding sealer....
The custom-mixed red comes next...
The headstock was sprayed black and then clear coated...
The cured clear coat has been finish-sanded and buffed....
Ready for assembly....
The first piece - the trademark 'Vee' tailpiece....
Each component is carefully fitted to avoid chipping or scratching of the new finish....
Moving right along....
The wiring is clean and simple....
That's it for the major components...
Looks great from all angles!...
The custom logo looks great under the flawless clear coat.....
Tuning machines, strings, and a Super Tune, and she's all finished!...
The red looks brilliant indoors or out....

Off to the customer....
