Mike Forrester: Guitar Repair Pics
Custom Mahogany Archtop Armrest
- I cut this armrest from a nice piece of Honduras mahogany....
- The profile was traced from an Epiphone ES-295 archtop electric, and a routing template was cut from acrylic sheet......
- The mahogany already looks great, and this pic was taken BEFORE the satin lacquer was applied....
- Here is the satin lacquered armrest in place....
- This armrest is held in place by heavyduty 3M double-sided tape, per the customer's request. He prefered not to have extra mounting holes drilled in the guitar.....
- The look is classic and purely organic.....not to mention, it feels great under the forearm, where sharp edged binding can become a nuisance after while....
- I can cut a custom armrest for just about ANY stringed instrument. Call me to discuss YOUR application....
